Why the goofy name?

Say thanks to Trademark Law!

See, this was originally called "Backup Buddy" because it's a way to make backups easier. It's a free project, with no revenue, and so I didn't worry too much that my stupid, little project with no great aspirations than to give back to the global community would be considered a threat by lawyers.

Guess I was wrong.

"This Is Not Backup Buddy" is in no way affiliated with any product called "Backup Buddy".
